If you are a Mason Korea student, please contact Dr. Shannon Davis ([email protected]) or Seongyeon Bae ([email protected]) to schedule a meeting regarding an Academic Standards referral.
The Academic Standards Office does not conduct in person meetings; all appointments occur virtually via Zoom.
Before scheduling a meeting with our office, please review the following meeting types so you ensure to schedule the correct type. Doing so ensures the staff member you meet with is prepared to review and answer your questions and offer the appropriate type of assistance.
Meeting Types:
- General Meeting:
-
- This type of meeting is only available to students who do NOT have an active case with our office. If you have questions about the ASO, the Academic Standards Panel/Committee, records retention, or other general queries that are not directly linked to an active and open case in our office, schedule this type of meeting.
- Pre-Hearing (Optional or Required):
-
- This type of meeting is only available to students who have an active case with our office and have NOT submitted their pre-hearing form. This type of meeting is designed to provide information to students who have received a referral notice. In this meeting, we will review the charges, recommended sanctions, case resolution process, and answer any procedural questions you have that were not addressed in your referral notice or the ASO document.
-
- Pre-Hearings are optional for students who are not facing institutional separation
-
- Pre-Hearings are required for students who are facing suspension or dismissal as a recommended sanction in their case
- Case Review Meeting:
-
- This type of meeting is only available after a case has resolved, including any appeal period. It is designed to provide a summary of the case. During this meeting, no outcomes can be modified or changed, but a representative from the Academic Standards Office will walk you through the rationale for the outcome of your case and ensure that you understand the decision. This type of meeting can also answer questions about sanction completion.
All appointments will take place virtually via Zoom. Make note of the Zoom location you receive in your appointment confirmation. If you plan to join via phone, make note of this in the comments. Additionally, please be prepared to access the files that were shared with you via the student portal as indicated in your prehearing notification. You will need to select one of the available Academic Standards appointments available in the scheduling center. Failure to select the correct appointment type may result in a delay in your appointment.
